About
Deer Lake covers about 42 acres inside Deer Lake State Park. The park wraps the basin in a protected coastal landscape where people hike, kayak, fish, and watch birds.
Compared with lakes whose shores are mostly private, Deer Lake shows what it looks like when public stewardship takes in the whole setting: dune, lake, and the path toward the Gulf, held as a park rather than as leftover water between houses.
