Draper Lake covers about 40 acres near Blue Mountain Beach. Published descriptions put the average depth near 5.9 feet, a figure this guide does not repeat for the other lakes because it was not given for them.
Roads and culverts have been built across paths the water would otherwise take. The basin is still a coastal dune lake. The way water enters it and leaves it has been shaped by the street network. Draper is the clearest short lesson, along this chain, in how a road grid and a dune-lake system occupy the same ground.
